5 reasons to join our New Slack Community: Global SaaS Leaders •

Mar 23, 2022

The TL;DR version of this article is as follows:

  • We just launched a newly-created (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
  • It's open to leaders at established SaaS as well as software firms (including founders! ).

The reason we're launching a no-cost Slack community

Because communities are amazing!

No, seriously.

Sure, there are some other SaaS and software-based communities on the market. Some of them are excellent.

When we began to think about creating the kind of community that uslike to be member of, we realized that there was an opportunity to create something completely new.

To that end, we created Global SaaS Leaders as a place with five distinctive characteristics:

1. Global Focus

We found many SaaS and software-based communities which were U.S.-based or focused on a particular location.

Global SaaS Leaders will be distinct. They may reside in the U.S., but our clients and the larger SaaS community are spread throughout the world..

As we grow our community, we'll be focused on acquiring a wide member base and global view.

2. The design is geared towards leaders of long-standing software and SaaS companies.

The most interesting software conversations we found online revolved around starting an entirely new SaaS company.

These conversations are useful for anyone looking to begin building the foundation of a SaaS.

We observed that it is quite difficult to find helpful dialogue between executives from established SaaS and software companies.

It's the reason we've decided to create an online community of SaaS leaders thinking about growing and scaling up an existing software-based business instead of building the minimum feasible products or seeking seed funding.

If you're a lifestyle entrepreneur that has a self-funded SaaS that is already earning $10,000 per month, we want to assist you in connecting with other entrepreneurs similar to you.

Similar to if you're the developer lead at a venture-backed startup which just crossed the threshold of $10 million annually.

This is the goal we will pursue on the upcoming Global SaaS Leaders: to provide a forum in which you can discuss the challenges unique to your business once you have reached the point of product-market-fit and then begin to scale.

3. Professionally moderated

It takes a dedicated and talented moderator (or group of moderators!) to create a positive, welcoming culture within a community.

We've gained a lot of knowledge from the Reddit community r/entrepreneur, as an example.

Yet even the most reputable communities such as this one sometimes struggle with the focus. It's interesting that the top. 1 thread this year is a combative post about how cryptocurrency has been overwhelming the feed:

Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this article!) are the first moderation team as we launch the Global SaaS Leaders community.

We have spent more than an entire decade of in the field of moderating online communities, with hundreds of members.

And the creation and launch of this community is one of our job descriptions.

The conversation will remain focused to SaaS as well as software and we'll ensure that you won't have to deal with spam, unsolicited offers and personal attacks. trolling in any form.

4. Not solely focused on venture capital , or funding rounds

We don't care if you're financially strapped, venture-funded, private equity supported, or another ownership model.

World SaaS Leaders won't be a place with a major focus on funding rounds or exit strategies.

In addition, we want to create a place that you can engage in discussions about revenue, hiring profits, tools and pricing strategies, technological infrastructure, and anything else related to growing the business of software.

It's OK for members to periodically have discussions about funding. But it won't be the sole conversation.

5. The most supportive SaaS and software community anywhere on the internet.

Certain online communities can be dangerous locations.

Whatever you're looking for, where you're from, and whatever you're from, we want you to feel at ease posting and engaging in our online community.

Katie as well as I are going to do all that we can to foster a supportive and positive society in this brand new one. We will also ensure that we'll not stand for individual attacks, bigotry, racism, sexism, or any other disrespectful conduct.

Our target is no less than this: to create the most supportive SaaS and software-based community on the internet.

How can you join The Global SaaS Leaders Community

If you're an executive at an established SaaS company, we'd love to include you in our network!

We know it's a long request form, but we use the information to ensure the quality of the community and also to identify potential spammers.

Also, there's a FAQ available on the application's page which could provide answers to your queries.

We hope you'll join us!
