Not every elearning course that you take is going to hold your attention. If the material is dull or the presentation is poor, then your mind will wander.

It's not helping to learn these classes on the laptops of our own personal computers or mobile devices, meaning the internet (and our emails) are just one mouse click away.

The "battle for the attention of others" has been a constant battle for instructional designers when they create their course. This issue is especially relevant in elearning courses designed for continuous learning as well as certification.

Although there's no full-proof way to keep learner interest, there are strategies to help foster learner involvement.

The more engaged a student is in your material, the greater chance they'll stay on track and avoid other distractions.
