My story
My name is Ekaterina Boguslavskaya. I was born in Russia.
I studied in Moscow However, I lived outdoors in the countryside.
There was no hot water, the house was heated with a furnace as well as the neighbor's raised goats and cows. Wonderful times! In addition to nature and bikes I was a huge fan of animation. All my peers grew up and stopped liking cartoons, but I did the opposite! It was then that I realized that it would become my favorite thing to do. That's how I got into the film academy in Moscow, Russia.

My personal style
My drawings should always provoke some profound emotions. It's like sitting by the fireplace after your day through the forest.

My procedure
I love the process of drawing. It has something in common with meditation. While I'm at work I can see it getting dark and dark. I may also become hungry, but it doesn't really matters while I'm working.

Presently, I'm employed both in the animation industry and illustration... And there are board games too. I truly love my job.
I've always been drawing a lot. However, it began to look better after I completed my studies. As I decided the way and what I would draw.

My advice to doubtful visual artists
Find something you love and enjoy your time with it. Try to listen less to people if you don't really enjoy what they are doing. All will be well! You will meet people who love what you do.

My technique
I sketch almost every thing on my iPad in Procreate. I sometimes finish an item using Photoshop.
The iPad has really transformed my daily life. Now I work at home, in cafes, and in libraries. When I pick a location to work, I wander around and don't just sit on my laptop. Therefore, the iPad is a treasure which combines traditional drawing with computer drawing.

The iPad is loaded with great brush brushes. For example, I purchased watercolor brushes from "The Watercolor MaxPack - Brushes for Procreate". Every time I use them, I am ecstatic. I make use of the brushes. They are very close to the real thing as is possible.

Some words on what I do for job.
I attempt to draw a rough outline of the objects. Because I find hard outlines harsh and cold.
Sometimes, I tint my shadows cold bluish with the multiplier setting. Sometimes I use overlay. But I don't understand that much about it.

Procreate has some good blur settings, try them out! There are several varieties, which are very effective. The majority of the time, I draw using traditional tools on paper or canvas.
I'm still looking, learning about my subject as well as trying to come closer to my image that I love by creating personal work.

Information about the Teriberka series
I went there after my trip (to Teriberka). Russian North, the Arctic. It was a town that used to build ships and catch a lot of fish. It's now a bit of a ghost town.
Please Google it! It is very beautiful.

I always like the North.
I like the people, the animals, the millions of shades of moss. Tiny berries contain loads of vitamin C, which is more than any tropical fruit. It's very impressive.
Northern rock formations look similar to the skin of huge elephants! This is the feeling that I tried to show in these photos.

About the Tiny Things series
This project came into my mind after I had become exhausted of work, the pandemic, and the city.

I picked up a macro lens and went into the forest. And how much incredible beauty was right under my feet! Everything was stunning. It gave me lots of energy to create. It was how this project came about.
No matter what happens it is possible to find a miracle that is right there!

How can I plan my time at work
The hardest thing is to manage time and rest, to answer 'no' to proposals that aren't appropriate. or to do a lot of work in order to stay afloat and not get tired by doing what you enjoy. All this I am still trying to master.

About the creative blocks
The hard part is the process itself - sometimes it doesn't take place. It's not what I like about the outcome. So you can suffer for eight hours, get frustrated. After that, just a few days after, you can redo it in a matter of minutes and everything looks good. What's that? Magic.

My little advice about how to get over creativity blocks
If you are faced with a particular kind of job to be completed, don't take a moment to draw (if you can). Allow your mind to think as you go along working on other tasks. This is how I believe that the most effective solutions will come.

My view of my work
If I were to grade my work, I would never give myself an "excellent". It's exhausting, and I torture myself. But on the other hand, it drives me forward.
Drawing is like an adventure!
You have tickets to a country, you already know something about it on Google, something will surprise you right on the spot. It seems as if it would be a great adventure for me.
