Art collages - The CreativeMindClass Blog

The other day, I was able to catch Olga posting stories on Instagram of my hometown from my youth. In Warsaw's urban jungle is a lesser-known, holy green space. I would visit it in the summer to stare at the beautiful pine trees and catch a breath of fresh air in my urban lung. In her tale, Olga visited this area for the first time but she also got mesmerized by one of the oldest gardens in Warsaw. And I bet that soon she'll paint an inspired Boernerowo painting.

We asked Olga what she uses as the basis for designing her minimalist collages as well as painting of landscapes that are human-shaped.

"My name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. Since the age of a youngster, I've been painting and drawing plenty. I attended an art high school and studied Painting as well as Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm an illustrator, painter as well as graphic designer. In my practice, I focus on the relationship between nature and humans, carefully observing the way we create nature in our own backyards. When I look at hedges that have been trimmed, decorative plants, and well-designed home gardens, I am capturing the mysterious beauty of the surroundings around us."

"For many years, I've also been creating minimalist collages. The compositions are in the form of landscapes and still life, or are created as a result of experiments with shapes, textures as well as colours.

My style is eclectic since collage and painting are quite different. However, they share one thing that they share: they relax. I've heard the term "soothing" from my audience many times and think it best describes the nature of my art. If I am tired of painting, I create collages, and vice versa. A certain style can be a brief way to escape the one.

I believe that being aware is essential. I am attentive to all I see, including the environment, architecture and objects. This is evident in my art. In my works, you are not able to see the human , however, we get the feeling of human presence in trimmed hedges or in a mug that is left in the kitchen table."
