Articulate Storyline is available on the Cloud -
If you call yourself an instructional designer it is likely that you've been exposed (at at some moment) at some point to Articulate Studio, or their newer Storyline service.
The majority of courses that use e-learning are using or Articulate or Captivate At least, that has been the case on every project I've been on.
At present, the two flagship products that are offered by Articulate are software that can be downloaded. That is, the cost is one-time and you can download.
There is a second offering (Articulate Online), which is a cloud LMS of sorts which tracks user scores as well as information for prices starting at $199/month.
It's possible that this information will be considered old news for a large portion of people. If you've ever utilized Articulate, you understand the features of their software, and you also understand that they have a massive user base for support forums. A lot of forums are filled with questions ranging from novice to advanced in nature. A good number are because there are issues or experiencing bugs, in the application.
Which made me think...
How many people would use the Articulate products in the event that they were stored on cloud servers rather than on your computer? I can see a reasonable amount of backlash for this option, but it does provide some benefits.
For instance, because the client base of Articulate is quite vast, using a cloud-based solution means they (Articulate) can have total control of their product as well as the delivery system allowing to speed up and provide a more streamlined resolution of concerns.
From a user standpoint it would be nice for you to be able to log in to your course materials, along with the build tool from anywhere.
It's not my intention to ask for this change to happen, I'm simply suggesting it's something worthy of consideration - and could be beneficial for everyone involved.
