What would you say about your style?

It's somewhere between stylized and real-life fantasy illustrations. I tend to use aqua and muted color palettes and generally work with organicand flowing forms. I think my "style" as a fantasy illustration artist is heavily dictated by my color palette and the subject matter I choose to draw, and not necessarily how the painting is done. I was previously working using a much more straight-line style , but recently I've been transitioning into a looser and more expressive style.

What is the key to making your fantasy art illustrations?

Sweating over them until it appears to be closest to what I see the image in my mind (within reason, otherwise I'd be able to spend months working on one painting). It's my goal to challenge my ideas and not settle for a mediocre illustration. I'd rather spend a lot of time trying to get my dreamy illustration perfect than rush through it.

What are the best places to show the fantasy drawings you've created?

I'll be part of the coming "Oceans and Currents" exhibition on display at Gallery Nucleus on July 1st! While you wait I'm via Instagram. There are prints available in my online store Bandcamp for those who are interested!

The Background of Brigitte

I received my degree at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I am currently employed in the entertainment art industry as conceptual artist and illustrator. I also have an ongoing innovative project known as Pearl Farm that I draw drawings. I write, and sing original songs.

The article illustrations are of my own project Pearl Farm. This is my story that I wrote and follows a travelling troubadour called Vinny along with her pet Ray Hubble as they make their way across the planet called The Lofty Coastline.
