Five reasons to join our New Slack Community: Global SaaS Leadership *
The version that is The TL;DR version of this article reads the following:
- Just recently, we launched a brand new (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
- It's open to leaders at established SaaS and software firms (including founders! ).
We're starting a new free Slack group
The community spirit is fantastic!
No, seriously.
There are other SaaS and communities that are software-driven. A few of them are great.
When we looked at developing the kind of community that we we wouldlike to be a member of, we realized an opportunity to create something completely innovative.
We thought of Global SaaS Leaders as a space with five unique qualities:
1. Global focus
We discovered numerous SaaS and software-based communities which were U.S.-based or based in a specific area.
Global SaaS Leaders will be different. They might be located at home in the U.S., but our customers and the larger SaaS community span throughout the world..
If we create a community, we'll be aware of having a diverse membership as well as an international view.
2. The design is geared towards leaders of well-established SaaS-based and software businesses.
The most interesting software-related discussions we found on the web was related to beginning an entirely new SaaS company:
These discussions are helpful for anyone who is looking to build the foundation of a SaaS.
In the end, we discovered that it's quite difficult to get helpful conversations with leaders of well-established Software and SaaS businesses.
It's the reason we've made the decision to start an online community of SaaS entrepreneurs who are thinking about the expansion and growth of the size of an existing software company instead of creating the minimum feasible products or trying to raise seed funds.
If you're a lifelong entrepreneur and have an unfunded SaaS which is currently generating $10,000 a month, we'd be happy to help you connect with other entrepreneurs similar to you.
The same applies if you're the development director at a venture-backed company that just crossed the threshold of $10 million per year.
This will be the focus during the next Global SaaS Leaders: to create a space where participants can talk about the issues unique to your business when you have reached the point of product-market fit and are ready to scale up.
3. Professionally moderated
It is the responsibility of a determined and skilled moderator (or group with moderators!) to create a welcoming and welcoming culture within the community.
A lot of what we've learned through the Reddit community, r/entrepreneur for example.
Even the most respected communities such as this struggle at times with concentration. The top. top thread in the past year was a combative post about the way that cryptocurrency consumes the feed:
Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this piece!) is the moderation team that will be in place as we begin the Global SaaS Leaders community.
Collectively, we've been spending more than 10 years facilitating community forums online with thousands of members.
Furthermore, the creation and launch of the community are part of our jobs descriptions.
Our conversation will stay focused around SaaS and other software and we'll ensure that you don't need to contend with unwelcome offers, spam Personal attacks, trolling in any way.
4. Not solely concentrated on venture capital or funding rounds.
It doesn't matter if you're in financial trouble, venture funded, private equity backed, or any other type of ownership.
World SaaS Leaders won't be an event that is focused on funding rounds or exit strategies.
We also want to set up a forum where participants can participate in discussions regarding hiring, profits, revenue, tools price models, technology infrastructure, and anything else relevant to building the business of software.
It's acceptable for people to talk occasionally about funding. But it shouldn't be the only discussion.
5. Most useful SaaS as well as software communities anywhere online
There are certain online communities that could be risky places.
No matter who you are, no matter where you're from, or what you've experienced, we'd like you to feel at ease by posting on and taking part in our forums.
Katie as well as I are going to do what we can do to build a positive, supportive environment in the new community. And we'll not stand for individual attacks, bigotry, prejudice based on gender or race, or other unacceptable behaviors.
Our mission is nothing less than to create the most supportive SaaS and software community anywhere online.
