How to get out of the craziness of coaching -
Most coaches I know feel overwhelmed by all of the tasks they have to complete.
They're not clear on who their dream customer is.
They have too many offers.
They are too busy in order to gain the attention of others and to generate leads.
It's not easy for them to figure out how they can enroll individuals into their program.
They have too many applications that require them to bond with the use of rubber bands and zaps.
They work too hard for their clients to end up burning out, even though they enjoy their coach.
Do any of these resonate with you?
There are three types of overstress that I regularly observe coaches suffering from:
Strategies that overwhelm
Clients overwhelmed
Systems overwhelm
Let's examine them in one by one.
Strategy overwhelm
If it's about strategy, most coaches have numerous offers. They're doing too many things in an effort to get attention and get leads, and they often don't know on what type of client to go after.
They're also not clear on how they want to sell to draw people into their programs.
In the beginning it's likely that you'll be experimenting. That's okay.
However, you're really hoping to nail those Five Ones.
The Five Ones say that if you concentrate upon...
One avatar
One source of traffic
One offer
One enrollment mechanism
One year
It is possible to earn a million dollars of revenue.
If you're not at the million-dollar mark and you've reached your million dollar mark, do not even consider adding a second avatar, a second traffic source, another advertisement, or even a different registration process.
Coaches who don't make enough money to pay the salaries they'd like to think that they should to add more offers and products, additional avatars, or more sources for traffic ... every step in the hope of expanding their market so they can draw in more customers.
The exact opposite of in fact the situation.
The goal is to narrow it down. Make sure you are specific. Choose.
It's not about making the right choice.
The key is to make a decision, and making it right.
You can make any of them work.
Choose one and stay on it until you hit the million dollars.
I understand how challenging this can be.
But with the right mentoring and direction, you are able to do any work.
If someone else has succeeded in this way, then it's possible.
It's then a matter of finding the right details.
Clients Overwhelmed
While coaches enjoy coaching and love our clients however, there are times when it gets a bit much.
If you're putting in many 1:1 sessions with clients, it's not hard to become exhausted.
You find yourself saying the same thing over and over again.
It's that feeling you get when there's incredible energy coming out of your body during a client session, and do not exactly where it came from. The sensation is fantastic!
Now you're upset that a lot of people will not have the opportunity to listen to your dazzling story, because you're saying that in a personal one-on-one session!
A few coaches do not just one-on-one work, but are as well doing work for their clients. A done-for-you type model.
You can increase your fees so that you are paid more for your coaching and can perhaps take on less clients.
But it's fundamentally not scaleable.
The most scalable method is to do group coaching.
Develop a program for groups where you can work with all your clients at the same time.
The template, the framework, live group coaching, and a community.
They get not just you however, they also gain the other.
This means that, as the number of clients increases, so too does the value of your program.
If you're not currently offering group coaching or if having a group coaching program isn't the primary focus of your business, then it should be your top priority, and it should definitely be the "One deal" in your Five Ones.
Systems overwhelm
Nowadays, it's common to have the following: five or seven, eight or more softwares to run your coaching company.
Webhosting such as Wordpress or Wix
Software for marketing emails or the ESP (Email Service Provider) such as MailChimp or ConvertKit
Shopping cart similar to Shopify or Samcart
Platform for courses or LMS, such as Teachable or Kajabi
Video host such as Vimeo or Wistia
Funnel software or a page builder like LeadPages, ClickFunnels, or
Community-oriented software such as Circle or MightyNetworks
Scheduler like Calendly or SavvyCal
Survey instrument similar to TypeForm or SurveyMonkey
Affiliate tracking tool like Post or Tapfiliate, Affiliate Pro
Pipeline for Sales similar to Pipedrive or Close.com
CRM similar to Hubspot or Ontraport
Zapier to join them all!
There's a bit of overlap in the list because many of these tools perform more than one thing.
But then again, there may be other words that are commonly used that I didn't include.
You see the list gets pretty long pretty quick.
It not only adds up to a hefty each month, but it also adds up to a huge.
It also adds a lot of extra work and the mental energy of your.
First, there's the decision fatigue from deciding on all of these options.
For each category listed There are a variety of options, and they each have their strengths and weaknesses as well as some that span multiple categories.
It is important to test them each, and then choose the one you'll choose, then figure out how they'll integrate into other components of your stack.
Then comes the real process of integration.
Do they speak directly to each other? Or are you required to utilize Zapier for them to "zap" them together?
This is another headache, and the connections are weak.
They'll break, especially when you're on vacation, and it's your responsibility (or your team if you have one, and if they can figure it out) to repair it.
And then there's the psychological bandwidth that comes with needing to switch between softwares, each one doing things a little differently.
This causes a lot of context switching in which you have to change work style every few minutes.
If your logo is being uploaded at more than four locations then it's time to look for a smarter alternative.
With NO zaps.
No glue.
There are no rubber bands.
Your entire business in all in one location.
It's like finding your home along the border.
And all the parts talk seamlessly with each other.
Clients only need only to fill in their details only once and then you will already have their information in your database.
You can connect the opt-in form to them scheduling a strategy session with you.
Easy. Clean. Simple.
