Hamburg-based artist and illustrator Ines Hassler, more popularly known by the name Frau Ines is in awe of her artistic talent, courage and her local art community.
"Creative exchange, contacts as well as the sense of community that the scene provides are crucial to me and have made a significant impact on my career," says Ines. The scene located in Hamburg has creative initiatives that are overseen by Ines as well as her group of artists from Hamburg: Hey Du Hey Du The group is their gallery and an art studio. Also, they have Live Art Club Live Art Club, which they describe as a "cheerful lively, fresh" drawing class. "I could not become the person I am today if had not been open to the many opportunities that the city and its inhabitants have offered me over the past few decades," Ines says.
Active artist since an early age, Ines studied a variety of fields related to art throughout her academic years. She eventually landed in what she believed would be the most suitable for her: the field of design. "But after just a couple of years working for firms," she says, "I discovered that I had a greater focus on what I was working on in addition to working long hours, rather than working for big companies or customers. At some point I decided to start my own company and became a full-time professional artist."

Ideas that are creative and diverse could be an effective motivator
"The diversity of my day-to-day life keeps me energized and productive," she says. "The toughest aspect for me is performing exactly the same task every single day. I like switching between tasks, working in different groups, and accomplishing the same goals. It's like working as a hobby."
"But obviously this can be a challenge," she acknowledges, "especially in times of outbreaks or when deadlines for different parties come up. This is a stressful time and often excessive. This is why I have to strike a harmony."
"In all, the realization of oneself will be the main aspect," Ines adds. "Sometimes it's still a bit crazy that I'm able to consider my work for a living as a job. For me, it's not something I'm doing for money, but instead an everyday way of living."
