The art of creating high quality videos for your class is easier than you think. We asked  our video expert, Jesse Chorng, to share a few tips for all the DIY-ers.

To really facilitate learning on  your videos, they must be concise and clear without as many distracting elements as is possible. You don't need to invest hundreds of dollars in order to create top-quality videos, however it is important to develop a plan of attack. Whether it's creating the budget, determining locations, or building lights or writing scripts, spend the time thinking about what you want to say and how to translate that into video.

Remember, there's so much that you can do from home, using a camera or iPhone:

Using your webcam:
The most efficient method to create videos is to use the camera already integrated in your laptop. There's no reason to move footage from an external device since everything is stored already within your system, this is time-saving and will get you editing faster.

Pro Tips 1. For the best experience and to maximize the performance of your webcam, use third-party software such as EvoCam and IGlasses on Mac to regulate the white balance, brightness as well as contrast. This will help you appear amazing!

Pro Tips 2:In terms of placement your webcam, it should be just slightly or even in front of the line of your eyes, therefore it's slightly pointing toward the downwards.

Using the iPhone and iPad:
The most versatile piece of technology you may already have is an iPhone or any other device that is mobile. It's not just capable of recording video, but also has a quality microphone. You can even use it as a light source.

Pro TIP 3. To shoot video ensure that you steady your iPhone by putting it on the tripod with something like an Glif Tripod Mount or a tripod such as the Joby GorillaPod Stand and making your own from household objects. Like the webcam, you'll want a third party app that can control focus and exposure points in order for it not to automate everything while shooting. ProCamera is a great app with excellent review.

Pro TIP 4.Even when you're using different cameras Your iPhone is able to record audio better than any microphone mounted to the camera. An easy way to get the phone as close as is possible while recording? Flip your iPhone upside down in your shirt pocket and hit record!
