The ability to block notifications from the Community to you and your co-members

     The settings have been changed for community notifications to improve the user experience (and less email messages). Here's what's new.

What's the right way to ensure that residents are informed of the happenings within your community?

It's crucial to inform your customers know about exciting discussion topics, and also to encourage people involved in more discussion. But, it is important to allow your members the ability to control their own experience, and limit the amount of notification they receive. In addition, we've learnt from our founders the necessity of achieve this balance.

With the latest release of this function for community members that you can use with your friends, you are more in control of the messages you send. It means more active discussions, and no more bloated inboxes, and the possibility of a platform for community interaction that can connect the members of your group closer together.

You can set your own preferences for notifications for creator members

Community members and creators can now select the types of notifications they'd like be notified about in each category: New posts and replies to commentsor latest replies to your feedback.

If you sign in to a community as a member You can log into Settings and then select "Edit" from the Notifications. (Creators will find this option in the Notifications tab in the settings of their account.)

There's a wide range of topics that you can follow on the community. You can easily check or uncheck boxes and select which types of notifications that you'd prefer to receive about the various topics.

In this case, for instance, you may like to receive notifications of the comments, messages, or other responses to an area that is time-sensitive like Live Events or Announcements. If you are interested in other subjects such as this, you might prefer to only be notified each when someone posts the article, or you can remove notifications from this topic entirely.

You can also switch off notifications or on by pressing the button "Mute All" or "Unmute the entire".

Additionally, you are able to change your notifications for each topic in a matter of minutes through the "All topics"page or on an individual page for each subject. Click the bell icon then you'll be able to choose the options you would like for notification settings.

Set default notifications for a topic

Creators can also choose to set the default notification options for each subject within the community. This allows you to have more control over the experience members receive.

Instead of sending notifications to your employees on every article within the subject, it's possible to pick the subject areas that your employees are kept informed of as well as the types of notifications they receive.

Here's how:

In the Community tab of your dashboard, click "All topics". Next, select the "..." following subject that you'd like to edit and select "Edit Subject". Then, you'll be able to select the settings for your notifications under "Default notifications settings".

Members are able to alter their preferences for notification settings at any time in their account. If they don't change their preferences, they'll be defaulted to the settings that were set by the author of each topic.
