Enhancing the Popularity of your YouTube Videos

We'll now review of the video's popularity. Another factor can to drive the number of views.

Similar to high school The most popular students are selected first. On the other hand, that on YouTube the most popular content gets seen and watched by more people.

I've prepared a brief summary / checklist as a guide to help you. Download the checklist here. Our popularity attributes include: Views, Ratings comments, and Views. Views which is the amount of times your video has been seen. Views can be a fun one because the goal is to increase this number and the higher it gets more quickly you can get more views. A video with even 10 views will get more views more quickly than one that has zero views. A video with one million views will get an additional million more quickly than the first. Below are the steps you can take to start getting your first views:

Seeding - the moment you start your video, you will take a few minutes to watch it. Send it to a couple of acquaintances to gain the first couple of quick views.

Sharing Share your video with your friends or list. You've put the work in to make a quality video. Now is the perfect time to share it out. You should be ready to do this almost when you've launched therefore, you should prepare this ahead of time. Email it to your mailing list, post it on twitter, or share it on your blog, post it on your company Facebook page. Make sure to share it on all of your social media channels.

Request more shares If you're sharing your video, ask people to share it with others.

Ratings A rating assigned to your video is the sum of the thumbs-up and thumbs down offered to the video by users. It's interesting that videos with bad ratings can actually perform very well on YouTube I've seen YouTube videos that have a lot more thumbs down that do exceptionally impressively in terms of viewing. It appears to me that YouTube is more interested in videos that generate an emotional reaction regardless of whether it's a bad video and curated videos that people appreciate. So you can succeed with many thumbs down however I wouldn't recommend this approach. You should go for positive reviews.

Positive reviews will come from two ways.

Content One method to boost your YouTube video's rating is to offer high-quality content that viewers value. In addition make sure that the title for your video accurately describes the video contents. Video titles that don't match are the number one reason for poor review (thumbs up).

Ask Your viewers to rate your videos. "If you've enjoyed this video please comment and give me an "a-plus" below! Thanks!" - If you aren't asking, they won't be able to make it happen. I've seen plenty of videos with lots of views but very few reviews or feedback. Mostly because no one invited viewers to make a thumbs up or a comment about the video.

Comments - The final popularity feature of your video are comments. Comments are left by your viewers below your video and provide a message to YouTube as well as to others that your content will inspire engagement and curiosity among your viewers. Comments on your video will help drive more views for your videos. To get more comments Request viewers to make comments on your videos, but provide them with something particular to discuss. If you want to know their opinions on something, ask them to ask you a question to be asked in your next video. Here are a few examples of comment inspiring statements you can make within your video

  • "If you enjoy this video do not forget to leave me a note and click the thumbs up in the comments below! We appreciate it!"
  • "I really hope you enjoyed this video. It could be a huge help to me I would appreciate it if you leave me an e-mail or a message in the comments below."
  • "I'd like to know what you think of X Please tell me in the comments below."
  • "What else would you like to know more about me? Let me know in the comments below and I'll try my best to incorporate it into the future videos."

or if you've provided them with suggestions on how to accomplish things or instructed them on something, request them to share their experience or opinion on the matter. In the case of instructing them on how to create YouTube videos, ask your students to make comments about:

  • "I'd be interested in hearing about what kinds of YouTube videos you'd like to make or how you're making use of YouTube. Please let me know in the remarks below."

Respond Return to YouTube often and make sure to respond to as many of the comments as you can. It has several benefits.

  • It shows users that you value their opinion and could react to the comment, which means they are more likely to make a comment.
  • This tells viewers your presence is still present when they come across comments left by a user over two years ago but there are no replies to comments, they could conclude that you're not anymore active, and possibly in business. The result could be a decrease in their enthusiasm for your course or your product.
  • It boosts the amount of engagement as well as the number of people who comment for your video, which increase the visibility of your video on YouTube.

Also, if you only are able to respond to a couple of messages, pick the compliments you can respond to. The research has proven that those who post positive comments as compliments are the ones that care most about receiving a response. Even more so than those who express their opinion They often want to be heard. It is best to answer the questions asked. It could be an opportunity for you to point individuals to your courses for additional resources or to provide answers to their concerns. Don't get into an argument with the people who comment. You may get negative comments, and it can be beneficial to respond, but do so politely and professionally. Think about writing not for the individual who has a negative opinion instead, but for the thousands of others who may be reading this. You want to appear as an experienced positive and professional. Winning the battle doesn't matter and can often lose you prospective clients when you appear to be aggressive or rude.
